Abstract

1. A collection of polychaetous annelids made by the Japanese research vessel ‘Umitaka-Maru’ in December 1968 from the Arabian Gulf was examined. 2. Seventeen species, belonging to twelve families, are identified. 3. Two pelagic families (Alciopidae, Tomopteridae) and five species (Plotohelmis capitata, Tomopteris sp.,Autolytus cf.A. longistaffi, Lysidice ninetta, Pista cristata) are recorded new to the fauna of the Arabian Gulf.
