Abstract

Polyaniline-modified Cu2+-Bi2O3 nanocomposites were prepared and characterized for morphology, phase structure, elemental constitution, and optical properties by using relevant techniques like SEM, XRD, EDX, UVDRS, and PL, respectively. The photocatalytic tests for RhB removal demonstrated that heterostructured Cu2+-Bi2O3/polyaniline enabled the separation and transfer of photoinduced charge carriers, and the highest activity of 97.21% in 30 min was shown by the sample Cu2+-Bi2O3/polyaniline (5 wt %). Modification with polyaniline could efficiently enhance the catalytic activity of Bi2O3, and finally, a possible mechanism of degradation was presented.
