Abstract
Polyamines such as spermine, spermidine, putrescine, and histamine, and their more toxic and immuno‐suppressive derivatives are suggested as possibly involved in the acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). The levels of such compounds are likely to greatly increase in the sperm, on anorectal intercourse, due to the action of the enzyme systems present in intestinal microorganisms, including Escherichia coli.
