Abstract

The paper describes the synthesis and properties of gas chromatography new packings containing chemically bonded copper (II) and chromium (III) complexes. In the packings the chlorides of the metals are bonded to silica surface by means of the aminosilaneN-[3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl]ethylenediamine. Measurement of retention data enabled characterization of specific interactions. For the different packings relationships were found between the molecular structure of the solute (aliphatic and aromatic halogenated hydrocarbons, ethers, thioethers and esters) and their retention times. The physical and chemical properties of the packings were determined.
