Abstract

Networks of polyacrylamide with ionized functional groups were studied for the possibility of imprinting of oligomeric form of human growth hormone (hGH). Trimeric molecular form of hGH was molecularly imprinted for the first time. The results show that approximately 35–40 % (w/w) of the templates (depending on polymerization conditions) could be extracted from the molecularly imprinted acrylamide polymers. Artificial gel antibodies against trimeric hGH in the form of granules of hydrogel were compared with granules of non-imprinted polymer. Investigation of the binding to imprinted polymer of the template hormone, other molecular forms of the hormone, and other proteins shows enough high selectivity of artificial gel antibodies.
