Abstract

AbstractThe preparation of a polymer on the basis of suspension polyvinyl chloride resin with various chemical combinations offering anticoagulant effects on the blood is considered. As a result of many experiments, a material has been obtained which during its prolonged contact with blood reduces clotting thus preventing the thrombus formation. This gives us a base for preparing vascular catheters, substitutes for vascular conduits and various tubes for an extracorporal blood‐circulation apparatus as well as test‐tubes and vessels for taking and storing blood without the danger of clotting. A reliable extension of clotting time of blood under a continuous contact with the given polymer has been proved experimentally.
