Abstract
AbstractThe influence of the interchange reactions of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET)/polyarylate (PAr) blends on the melting behavior of isothermally crystallized PET has been studied. PET shows three melting endotherms in the pure state and also when mixed with PAr. These endotherms are explained in terms of primary and secondary crystallization processes as well as recrystallization during the calorimetric scan. It is also shown that interchange reactions hinder the crystallization processes of PET.
