Abstract

[H2Os3(CO)9-(PPh2)x-C10H6−x]n (x = 2–3, n≈55) was synthesized and shown to have significantly higher catalytic activity for the isomerisation of 1-hexene than H2Os3(CO)9-xxx (xxx = polystyryl chain) or free H2Os3(CO)10. It can be considered as a model system for comparing its ‘linear’ or rather non-coiled structure with polymer-supported catalysts with alkane backbones.
