Abstract

Background and objectives: the growing impact of dengue fever in Brazil in recent years made different Governments to adopt emergency measures to combat. Small municipalities, however, had many difficulties due to weaknesses in its management, prevention and control. On to this fact we have identified the need for a diagnosis to subsidize future actions geared to meet their specific local demands. In this context, the objective of this work was to analyze some of the effects of dengue fever from an analysis of the perception of local actors from three basic axes: fighting the proliferation of mosquito knowledge of disease and the treatment received by the sick by the local health network. Methods: application of questionnaires to a sample of (N-111) individuals selected from the snowball technique, with positive information parameter of respondents about the virus infection in the last 12 months the carrying out of the interview. Results: the results show that while respondents have knowledge about dengue fever, that the majority does not participate in the campaigns interrupting treatment as soon as symptoms early classics disappear. Conclusion: we conclude that actions aimed at massive disclosure more inclusive practices and combined with systematic follow-up may produce better results in short and medium term.
