Abstract

This article is an intertextual study on literary topics of the symbolist poet Alexander Blok’s early works in the context of a broad historical and literary materials. His poetic practice and reflection serves as an interactive space, where happens an exchange with various different types of discourse: philosophical, literary‐critical, epistolary. Special attention is drawn to the ways of appropriating the literary topics and verbal formulas fixed as a quotation fund, which precedes a certain subculture of the early modern age. In this article Blok`s own literary strategies are investigated in their correlation with the internal vectors of cultural development.
