Abstract

Numerous surface and ground water resources have been polluted by industries located around the river Noyyal, India. The water quality has been estimated to define the impact of contaminants in the study area. Fish sample (O.mosaambicus) has been collected from different locations. An elevated level of RBC, WBC count and changes in total percentage has been observed. Glutathione peroxidise activity in gill and muscle samples have shown profound changes and also relative changes in banding pattern and intensity has been noted. Remotely sensed data, environmental and biological data have been integrated in GIS platform to assess the impacts of pollution.
