Abstract

The article aims at a description of „parliamentary speeches in European Parliament“ as political texts in the context of criteria resulting from existing classification of the types of political texts and complemented by external factors unique for the situation in European Parliament with a direct reflection in the language of politicians. As example follows an analysis of the speech of the German MEP Jens Geier on the expenditures on the building of the House of the European History.
