Abstract

Relevance. In the modern world, there is an unprecedented use of sports to solve political problems, in particular, we are talking about sanctions against Russian sports. In these conditions, it becomes obvious that the widely used slogan "sport outside politics" does not reflect the entire palette of real connections and relations between politics and sports, which, in turn, actualizes the problem of the relationship between these two phenomena of the social structure of society. The system of relations between politics and sports is multifaceted and diverseThe purpose of the research is to identify the similarities and differences between politics and sports in the modern world, to show their impact on the world of art.Methods and organization of research. It is possible to distinguish sports policy, sports policy, the tasks of self-promotion of sports, as well as those forms when sport acts as a means of forming the image of the state, and finally, the conscious use of sport as a lever for solving specific conjunctural problems of our time. It is this aspect that requires a revision of the "sport outside politics" provision.Conclusions. The realities of today's reality indicate that defending the position of "sport outside politics" requires revision. Moreover, this becomes obvious in modern conditions, when sport becomes an important element of mass culture
