Abstract

Indonesia Development in the border area of Entikong, Indonesia does not impact on the trade flow and people’s economic movement. There was no political movement by non-state actors (AP3I) to address these problems. The political movement works as an engine to drive the economy and accelerate the formation of policy. Therefore, this qualitative study aimed to analyze the causes of the political movements made by AP3I of the Entikong border. Data collected were through observation and interview. This study found the origins of political moves by AP3I, namely border areas, including weak areas, threats to economic security. This study's findings indicate that the AP3I political movement has broad involvement in the progress of a country in the social, political, and industrial fields. The study also found factors that accelerated border development to develop international dry ports. The construction of a global land port or dry port makes the border trade run optimally. AP3I also leads to active and creative diplomacy from collective social alliance communication community groups. Based on these results, the researcher concludes that several factors that drive the formation of political movements in society are the AP3I movement. This movement supports the improvement of people's welfare at the border as recommendations made by the AP3I political movement as a non-state actor based on economic security and diplomacy in accelerating the development of the Entikong edge.
