Abstract

In the late 20 th and early 21 st centuries, linguistic investigations of political discourse, rather significant in scope and content, were carried out in Russia. As a result, political linguistics was formed as an independent scientific discipline characterized by dynamic development at the present time. The study of political language in China began later. The awareness of the independence and specificity of this scientific field in the circles of Chinese Russian scholars has not been formed yet. In this regard, the development of the theory of political linguistics seems extremely urgent. The monograph of Lu Tingting “Political Linguistics: Theory and Methods” (Shanghai, Shanghai People’s Publishing House, 2018, 222 p.) comprehensively and consistently outlines theoretical foundations and methods of Russian political linguistics and also presents the ideology of formation and development of Chinese political linguistics. The monograph has an undoubted educational and reference value for the scientific community of China, since political linguistics in China is still at the stage of formation.
