Abstract

Political behaviour is the third of the factors which must be considered in understanding and explaining the politics of West Germany. It interacts with other factors of history and the political system, shaping them and being shaped by them. But ‘political behaviour’ is a vague term in itself. More precisely, it includes the ways in which people act politically, and the reasons why they act in those ways, in terms of their motivations and values, and the political culture which is the setting for their political ideas and activities.
