Abstract

Accepting the principle of universal or adult franchise is an important thing under the goals of world democracy. Many battles were fought in the world to give it a true and real form because many governments of the world did not want to give voting rights to women. Women are not considered equal from social, political, legal and other points of view. The United States of America gave adult suffrage to women through the 19th Amendment of its Constitution in1919. In Britain in 1928, in France in 1945, in Italy in 1948, women were given equal voting rights as men. Under the Indian Constitution, adult voting rights were given to men and women in 1950, considering them equal.
