Abstract
The subject of research presented in the paper were issues concerning polysemy of idiomatic expressions, analyzing from contemporary lexicographic practice perspective. Comparing 30 idiomatic expressions that in Concise dictionary on Polish idiomatic expressions written by S. Bąba, G. Dziamska, J. Liberek were recognized as polysemantic with three different contemporary dictionaries proved that there was huge latitude and chaos in this subject. In three analyzing dictionaries only one idiomatic expression was interpreted identically. Number and quality of meanings of the rest idiomatic expressions were interpreted variously.
