Abstract

The Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) board of directors made a major change in policy at the March 16, 2008, meeting in Washington, DC. The Due Process Procedures policy—04.02.00—has been in effect since 1991 with little change. Essentially this policy provides direction for a medical transport service to appeal an accreditation decision when the service believes there were errors in interpretation during the site visit or board decision-making process. The service must request an appeal in writing within 30 days of being informed of the accreditation decision.
