Abstract

Energy development in the United States faces problems of regional acceptance. This paper examines the regional energy development decisions generally by looking at the impact of geothermal energy development on Imperial Valley, California. While land use will vary for different energy source development projects the basic economic trends will be similar. Regional, interregional and regional-national policies intended to improve the impact of development are discussed. Basic to any national energy goal is the cooperation among decision and policy makers on the local, regional and national levels. (SAC)
