Abstract
Law enforcement agencies around the world are increasingly adopting biometric technologies. The Western Identification Network (WIN), a consortium of western US state and local law enforcement agencies, is to adopt NEC's Integra-ID Multimodal Biometric Identification System (MBIS) solution. Also in the US researchers have developed the FaceSketchID System, which matches police suspect sketches with images held on mugshot databases.
