Abstract

The police chief of Newtown, Ohio credits the open minds of all four “pillars” involved in fighting the opioid crisis in a 16% reduction of overdose deaths last year. In an exclusive interview with ADAW this month, Chief Thomas W. Synan Jr. attributed the success to a robust community coalition that in the past few years has “connected all the pieces and built a continuing care model.”
