Abstract

Flowering of sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) which is an important plant for bee pasture, coincides with flowering of Ambrosia artemisiifolia L. Ambrosia artemisiifolia is one of the most important weeds in agricultural areas. This weed species is important allergen and significant medical and economic problem. The one gram of pollen Ambrosia artemisiifolia contains 30-35 million of pollen grains. During one season, one plant can produce more than 45 g (<1350 million) of pollen grains. During 2015 pollination season (1.7.-27.9.), the amount of ragweed pollen grains was measured at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Novi Sad. Result showed pollen peak of 514 grains in m3 of the air. At the same time, in region of Novi Sad, number of pollen grains in 100 g of Ambrosia artemisiifolia samples ranged from 3.4 g up to 19.4 g.
