Abstract

The dominant complex poles of three simple radar targets, namely sphere, finite cone and finite right circular cylinder have been obtained from their transient response by time-domain Prony's method. The consensus pole sets are located by sliding window technique. The effect of sampling rate, noise and polarisation on the extraction process has been studied. An optimum SNR has been found with standard deviation of additive white gaussian noise as a variable parameter. An optimum sampling rate has been found for each of the three simple targets.
