Abstract

AbstractThe formation of a Pekar polaron‐type self‐trapped state by an electron in ferro‐ and antiferroelectrics near the phase transition point is shown to be possible in the case when there is no strong coupling polaron far from the transition. This feature is due to the “soft mode” in the phonon spectrum. The properties of the polaron strongly depend on the proximity to the phase transition point.
