Abstract

In this work, we have investigated the influence of electron–phonon interaction on the linear, nonlinear and total refractive index changes and absorption coefficients of a modified Gaussian quantum dot. For this goal, we have used a compact density matrix approach and an iterative procedure. We have considered the LO phonon, SO phonon and LO + SO phonon. We found that the refractive index changes and absorption coefficients increase due to the electron–phonon interactions. The electron-LO + SO-phonon interaction has the largest contribution to the refractive index changes and absorption coefficient.
