Abstract

Photoluminescence Enhancement In article number 2200008, Wei Li, Ming Xin, Baoli Liu, and colleagues employ the metal-insulator-metal (MIM) Salisbury-type perfect absorber with a symmetry-breaking metallic metasurface to construct an exciton–plasmon coupling system. Fully utilizing the unique property of maximum in-plane electric field of the Salisbury-type absorber in a designed direction, large photoluminescence enhancement and the high degree of linear polarization of photoluminescence independent of the excitation polarization are achieved in monolayer MoS2.
