Abstract
Polarized infrared reflectivity spectra of SrLaAlO4 and SrLaGaO4 single crystals were obtained at room temperature between 30 and 2000 cm—2. All the spectra were fitted with the factorized form of the dielectric function. The number of observed polar phonons is higher than corresponds to the prediction from the factor-group analysis because of the disorder of strontium and lanthanum atoms and two-phonon absorption.
