Polarized hyperon production with a high energy polarized proton beam

Abstract

It is suggested that the high energy polarized proton beam now available at the Argonne National Laboratory Zero Gradient Synchrotron may provide a copious source of polarized hyperons, particularly lambdas. The potential value of this beam for investigating production processes is emphasized.
