Abstract

The vector polarization transfer coefficient for the 28Si( d, p) 29Si g,s reaction has been measured at 10° and 20° (lab) reaction angles at 12.1 MeV. The experimental results are compared with distorted-wave predictions with and without the inclusion of the deuteron D-state. The small magnitude of the transfer coefficient observed at 20° is attributed to the large D-state effects.
