Abstract

This paper presents a circular patch reconfigurable antenna using parasitic stub to achieve linear and circular polarization. A circular patch antenna with Defected ground structure used as a primary antenna. The primary antenna is linearly polarized and resonates at 5.5 GHz frequency. To achieve circular polarization parasitic elements are used. Polarization of antenna depends on the switching configurations of the diodes and it can radiate for Linear Polarization (LP), Left Hand Circular Polarization (LHCP) and Right Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP). The proposed antenna is printed on 0.8 mm thick RT/Duroid 5880 substrate with dimension 50 χ 50 mm2.
