Abstract

The angular dependence of differential cross section and polarization of protons for the reaction 40Ca(d,p) 41Ca has been observed at incident deuteron energies of around 11 MeV. The differential cross sections were measured at the deutron energies of 11.2, 11.0, 10.85, 10.65 and 10.4 MeV and in the angular range between 20° and 145°. The polarization was measured at a mean incident energy of 10.9 MeV and in the angular range between 20° and 130° by using a carbon polarimeter and NaI scintillation counters. There is fairly large polarization at backward angles and according to the Basel convention the sign of polarization is negative at all angles. Experimental differential cross sections were compared with the DWBA computation which incorporated only a central distorting potential.
