Abstract

The polarization of neutrons produced in the 2H(d,n) 3He reaction was measured for five deuteron energies between 92 and 173 keV, with a thick TiD target at angles near 50° lab. The measurements were performed with a cloud chamber and with the associated-particle method. The polarization varies strongly in the energy range investigated. The results support the Wills' phase shifts.
