Abstract
Novel applications for the polarization Michelson interferometer (POLMINT), or the equivalent Mach-Zehnder interferometer, are proposed. This includes analog and binary polarization modulation, the temporal shearing of a short light pulse into a doublet of two separate pulses of orthogonal linear polarizations, frequency doubling of a pulse train, and pulse shaping and polarization chirping.
