Abstract
The polarization characteristics of a two-photon phase conjugate mirror are theoretically derived using a tensorial formalism. In the common case where the two-photon operator is either scalar or quadrupolar, the polarization characteristics are independent of the atomic wavefunctions of the ground and excited levels.
