Abstract

The present paper features experimental data on temperature studies of polarized luminescence spectra of Er:LiNbO3 ceramics deposited by laser ablation on the surface of a single-crystal Yb,Er:LiNbO3 substrate. It is shown that the formation of whiskers in the deposited layer of Er0.1-0.2:LiNbO3 ceramics enhances the polarization dependence of the luminescence spectra and affects the transition rates of relaxation channels in favor of the σ component of the pump radiation.
