Polarizability anisotropy of the nitroamino group and the conformations of some substituted nitroamines

Abstract

1. The major semiaxes of the polarizability ellipse for the C2NNO2 group were determined (5.36, 4.25, 2.10 A3). 2. The conformations of the nitroamines correspond approximately to the eclipsing of one of the bonds of theα carbon atom and the NO2 group. 3. In the N-nitroso-N-alkylbenzenesulfonamides the alkyl radical eclipses the S=O bond.
