Abstract

Polish is the national language of Poland, and the vast majority of Polish citizens speak Polish. Several laws relate to languages, including the 2005 Law on national and ethnic minorities and regional language, which officially recognizes the linguistic rights of national and ethnic minorities. Minority languages in Poland include several languages spoken by larger speaker groups in neighboring countries, as well as Kashubian and Silesian.
