Abstract

In this work we present a mathematical model for the flow of two fluids (micropolar and Newtonian ) through concentric cylinders having porous space of different permeability. The Poiseuille flow of micropolar fluid takes place in core region while Newtonian fluid in the annular region of concentric cylinders respectively. An analytical expression of velocity, flow rate, micro rotational velocity, wall shear stress for the flows of two-fluid through concentric cylinders have been evaluated. We also discuss the case of Newtonian-Newtonian fluid flow through concentric porous cylinders having different permeability. The significant effect of permeability parameter, micropolar fluid parameters, flow parameters on the velocity profile, flow rate and wall shear stress have been analyzed graphically. The model is applicable for the process of extraction of crude oil through the porous pipes, blood flow through arteries, and filtration process etc.
