Abstract

THE DRIVE to improve cancer services in England has lost its momentum according to the House of Commons public accounts committee. And how does this group of parliamentarians know this? Because UK survival rates, while improving, still compare unfavourably with much of the rest of Europe. Other issues include disappointing survival rates and access to treatment for people aged over 65, and the fact that a number of waiting time targets have been missed.
