Abstract

A point mathematical model of combustion of aluminum nanoparticles in an oxygen-nitrogen mixture is proposed. The phenomenon is modeled within the framework of a single-phase Stefan problem. The effect of gas pressure and ambient medium composition on the burning time of particles is studied. Verification of the model against available experimental dependences of the burning time on temperature and pressure of the ambient medium is performed.
