Abstract

The electron-phonon scattering rate has been measured for the silver Fermi surface (FS) by examining the temperature dependence of the amplitudes of time-of-flight effect signals. The scattering rates thus found are average values for the orbit segment traversed by the electrons and depend on the position of the orbit on the FS and on the segment length. The point-by-point electron-phonon scattering rate on the FS has been extracted from the data by aid of a computerized mathematical inversion procedure. A comparison between the TFE data with those obtained by means of the radiofrequency size effect is carried out in terms of the energy dependence of vep(κ, ω).
