Abstract

AbstractA calcite formation was found on a rock‐wall painting at Chapada de Diamantina in a site in between Serra da Capivara National Park and Montalvania, Piaui, Brazil. Thermoluminescence and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) dating of this calcite gave an age of 40 to 55 ka, indicating that humans lived there prior to 40 ka ago.
