Abstract
There are special requirements for chirped fiber Bragg gratings used as stretchers in ultrafast fiber lasers. The benefits of fabricating fiber stretchers by the femtosecond point-by-point single-shot technique are described. For the first time, apodization and arbitrary nonlinear chirp are embedded in chirped fiber Bragg gratings point-by-point inscription process. A significant reduction of the amplitude ripple of the grating reflection spectrum is demonstrated.
