Abstract

Various experts have been cooperated with each other to develop a sustainable city in modern society. However, building a sustainable city is not a simple problem. First, the member of the city should participate to solve the problems their own. Second, a firm theoretical foundation is essential to resolve profit problems and to explain the interest parties of the city members. This paper proposes a solid theoretical foundation and an initiative case study to develop a smart and sustainable city. This paper offers modeling and simulation framework to help the city members to communicate with each other. Also, this paper introduces initial case study, the Pohang Living Laboratory. The member of the Pohang Living Laboratory are professors, students, city council members, stakeholders, and government employees.
