He is the author of three books of poetry and two novels, and teaches Creative Writing at Augusta State University, Georgia. His book‐length epic poem of Barbados, Limetone, is scheduled for publication in 2007.Edwin ThumbooEdwin Thumboo has published five collections of poems: Rib of Earth (1956), Gods Can Die (1977), Ulysses by the Merlion (1979), A Third Map (1993) Friend (2003); and two collections of nursery rhymes: Child’s Delight 1 & 2 (1972). He has edited Seven Poets: Singapore/Malaysia, An Anthology (1973), The Second Tongue: An Anthology of Poetry from Malaysia and Singapore (1979), and was General Editor for the Anthology of ASEAN Literatures: The Poetry of Singapore (1985), and The Fiction of Singapore (1990). He received the 2002 Raja Rao Award for contributions to the literature of the Indian Diaspora. An Emeritus Professor of the National University of Singapore, and founding Director of its Centre for the Arts, he has held visiting professorships and fellowships at universities in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.Sridhar RajeswaranSridhar Rajeswaran is a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of Hodeidah, Yemen, and a member of the Global Faculty of Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ, USA. He is currently teaching at Jaihind College, Mumbai, and is a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Mumbai and Saurashtra University, Rajkot. He is also a creative writer and has written poems and plays. His plays have been broadcast on All India Radio and have been read in professional theatres in Mumbai. His poetry has been published in India and the United Kingdom and is available on the Web sites of Siegen and Cologne Universities, Germany. He is currently working on a book of trees in Mumbai and a book on caves in Mumbai, both commissioned by the Department of Extra Mural Studies, University of Mumbai.Smita AgarwalSmita Agarwal has been publishing poetry in India and abroad for over 20 years. She has published Wish‐Granting Words and her poems are in anthologies such as Nine Indian Women Poets (1997), Verse: Indian Poetry Feature (2001), Reasons for Belonging (2002), Confronting Love (2005), and Fulcrum: Special Issue on Indian Poetry in English (2005). She is Professor of English at the University of Allahabad, India. He is the author of First Offence (1980), Group Portrait (1992), and Meditations on Desire (2003). He edited Contemporary Indian Poetry in English (1972), one of the earliest texts on South Asian literature. The Ocean in My Yard, a memoir of growing up in Bombay, was published in 2005. His poetry is represented in The Oxford India Anthology of Poetry (1994), Living in America: Fiction and Poetry by South Asian‐American Writers (1995), Contours of the Heart (1996), and Uncommon Wealth (1997).
