Abstract
Exploring the works of Braudel, Duby, Aries, Le Roy Ladurie and many others, this book asks whether the new problems, approaches, and objects that are supposedly specific to the "Annales" school may be connected to new strategies of writing. Whereas most studies of historiography focus on plot structures exclusively, the book is also concerned with the minutiae of writing.
