Abstract

Identity is one of the most important categories that organizes human relations with the world. The issue of identity is dealt with by numerous fields of science, especially the humanities and social sciences. The review of the literature shows, however, that the axiological approach to this issue is usually signaled in the background of more important issues, or – if it is present at all – it is usually placed in the background of considerations. Meanwhile, outside the sphere of values and bypassing evaluation processes, it is not fully possible to provide an exhaustive answer to key questions regarding individual/personal identity and social/group communities.The article highlights the most important issues of the undertaken issue of identity from the axiological perspective. However, there are still many important issues to consider in this field, not only in terms of axiology.
