Abstract
The ability to predict the absence or presence of high grade prostate cancer on biopsy may help in the selection of patients for prostate biopsy. The Prostate Cancer Prevention Trial (PCPT) has generated a predictive calculator for the presence of high-grade prostate cancer and this can be used over the internet. A classification and regression tree (CART) has been produced to predict high-grade prostate cancer and this utilises information gleaned from prostate ultrasound. The aim was to compare the accuracy of these nomograms for the prediction of all and high-grade prostate cancer with a locally generated logistic regression (‘Windsor Model’).
