Abstract

This article is theoretical and empirical in nature. The basic problem concerns the meaning of life in the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the light of student research. The theoretical part is the basis of the research. It includes issues related to, inter alia, with the definition of the meaning of life, its typology, with different approaches to the meaning of life. It is also important to refer to disturbances in the sense of meaning in life and the process of shaping the meaning of life. On the basis of the theoretical part, a research tool was developed in the form of a questionnaire, which, in addition to the record, has 14 open questions relating to three basic research areas: 1) the meaning of life; 2) the problem of the coronavirus pandemic; 3) distance learning during a pandemic. The research was conducted at the end of 2021 in a situation of a severe pandemic and introduced restrictions. The research sample consisted of 189 people. They were students of two universities: the Masovian Public University in Płock from the Faculty of Humanities and Computer Science and the University of Social Sciences in Lublin from the Faculty of Social Sciences. The research was conducted personally by the author of this article. The students were interested in the research, and their answers were generally interesting from the point of view of the content. They were suitable for scientific analysis. The article uses a double analysis and interpretation of research results: quantitative and qualitative.
